- Parallel connections
- Series connections.
What is parallel connections?
In parallel connections, we connects all the terminals in parallel as like in this picture you can see all the terminals/contacts are connected in parallel. But the question you can ask is why we connect parallel? What is the advantages and disadvantages of parallel connections?
What is series connections?
In series connections, we connects all the terminals in series wise, means in a line as shown in figure below. What is the advantages of series connections in plc programming? In series, we can do interlocked or can set situation means i say when m1 energized, motor1 will operate otherwise it will not operate. So this is condition and we a=can use m1 in series with motor1. When i want to use one switch button to operate or to activate multiple outputs, so i will use parallel connection. And when i need condition means for example i want to use one switch button to operate one motor but when the second motor is off. So this is condition in the circuit that is why i will use series connection. There are some basic programs to operate output from plc and how to design a plc programming in tia portal using siemens plc. Usually i used siemens plc s7 1200 for all the projects so i always show you programs with s7 1200, but the programming and the software will always same (i.e. Tia portal v13).
